Doc was so focused on himself. And some of the guys have talked about the clubhouse being looser in his absence. Jose's smiling all the time, and has got handshakes with everyone (they showed him at work before one of the Yankees games; was awesome). And he's taken Yunel under his wing. It certainly looks like he's the real deal, and I look forward to finding out.

@ Greg E: Good point. That first pitch ball was totally insane. It looks all the more crazy on on the strike zone plot. I know the umpires make mistakes, but, shit. I guess that's the beauty of baseball.Navin Vaswani (@eyebleaf)https://www.blogger.com/profile/08445618400360263938noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432386330226362504.post-85099375676520142872010-09-07T10:45:42.734-04:002010-09-07T10:45:42.734-04:00It was a makeup call for that brutal first pitch B...It was a makeup call for that brutal first pitch Ball.

Sweet Jesus, that ump was out to lunch.Greg Enoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432386330226362504.post-74584317574301140602010-09-06T20:42:15.735-04:002010-09-06T20:42:15.735-04:00I love Jose's passion. And best of luck at school, mate.

@ William: The Jays could have used Bautista later in the game, in the 9th. The strikezone was most unfortunate. I liked Jose's anger because he was acting like someone who leads the league in home runs, who deserves a better strikeout. That ball was outside, and Jose knew it. He was upset for good reason.

And, believe me, I know not all Yankees fans are all like that. For all my Yankees and Red Sox hatred, I know there are good fans out there of both those teams.Navin Vaswani (@eyebleaf)https://www.blogger.com/profile/08445618400360263938noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432386330226362504.post-81548430679471664762010-09-06T07:10:11.287-04:002010-09-06T07:10:11.287-04:00The umpires are just abominable this year.
