"The rate at which a person can mature is directly proportional to the embarrassment he can tolerate."
- Douglas Engelbert

If that's the case, after allowing one-hundred and forty-fucking-six (146!!1) points, the Toronto Raptors must be done maturing. Right? It can't possibly get much worse, or much more embarrassing, than last night in Atlanta, can it?

Whatever ails this Raptors squad, surely Reggie Evans cannot cure it on his own.

Once again, playing the part of the reasonable, even-keeled fan, I think it's an appropriate time to call for the coach's head. Fire Jay Triano. "At least we're not the Nets" is not a good enough excuse. (After Boston, the Atlantic Division standings are a crime against humanity.)

Toronto currently finds itself in the throes of an absolute coaching nightmare. Triano is in completely over his head, and is being called out by his players. Ron Wilson, much like his team shorthanded, is useless. And Cito Gaston ... Cito simply needs to sail into the senior advisor sunset.

Without having watched a single game and just looking at their roster... yea it can. Because they're going to give up 135+ points again. Because they can't play defense. Whatsoever.

BLOW IT UP!

Well, shit, there goes my comment. Now I can't think of anything to say that might make everyone feel better.

Oh well.

Someone call Jeff VanVonderen. This team needs an intervention.

Sounds like a guy who wants to stick around.

Cito Gaston is a saint. Do not abandon Citociy. Your Black Dad will not tolerate such insolence.

As for the Raptors, it's these absolute embarrassments that make me wistfully think about TJ Ford leading this team with Jose Calderon splitting the minutes. Fuck, this is what this team has brought me towards at this point - Forderon.

I never expected a potential Halladay trade to be the highlight of the Toronto sporting landscape. But at least a trade will sell some sort of (false?) hope.

"So Raps, I've been meetin' with the fanbase here, and they love you like crazy. But you know that. So they're gonna say what they have to say and you're gonna say what you have to say and that's it, we're done. OK?"

VanVonderen references never get old.

@ BkBlades: CitoCity is burning. As for TJ Ford, meh. The Raptors kept the right point guard. It just seems as if nothing is working out.

@ Escaped: It sucks waiting for the shoe to drop; waiting for the best player you've ever known to be traded.

@ The Ack: You're right, they never do.

@ Hungry: The Raptors thought they were so fucking clever with that shit. Idiots. And, in reality, the Leafs's slogan should be: "We prefer losing in overtime. Or the shootout."

Someone in that Raptors Locker room has to get angry....

I'm not going to say that as long as Bosh is your leader, this will continue. No one wants to hear it. He's a great player, but he's no leader. He is a great second option and probably will be one at the end of this season.

The only time I've seen a basketball team give up 146 points in regulation time is when I was playing NBA 2K9 (I can't afford the new one). Seriously, yesterday was laughable and pathetic. C'MON SON, 146 POINTS?!! 'The fuck outta here with that shit!!

There is clearly some "team chemistry" issues on this team. I'm guessing the Euros aren't gelling too well with the other guys. And I've said this all along brother, the only thing Chris Bosh will be leading this team to is in the box score. Jay Triano is too nice to be a coach and doesn't want to hurt anyone's girly egos. I never thought I'd say this but...the Toronto Maple Leafs seem to have more direction than this club.

@ BhattiBoy: I'm going to go out on a ledge and predict it WON'T be Andrea Bargnani.

@ Mattt: Tough to argue. The Raptors have been on the decline ever since Bosh became "the man." Don't make me pine for the Vince Carter days, man.

@ Lee(tch): Yesterday's game totally deserved a massive "C'MON SON!!!1" Fucking embarrassing. And you're right, there's def. chemistry issues. Antoine Wright, who should never take another shot again, said there are egos in the room that are afraid of being hurt, and that's why Triano isn't saying/doing anything. Jack echo'd Wright. And I would assume they're talking about the Euros. It blows me away that the Leafs might actually be less dysfunctional than the Raps, but that's what it certainly looks like. Hopefully Jack and Bosh had a great fucking time at their post-game bash in Atlanta last night. Priorities, guys.
