10 Years in Six and a Half Minutes

I came across this one late, courtesy of my man bkblades. It's rather stunning, and confirms the old adage: better late than never ...

Professional sports: the greatest escape.

Wow - some really great stuff here. I can't believe the decade is over already.

Did you notice Domi antagonizing that fan from the penalty box?

It's hard to believe all that happened in the last 10 years. Then again, it's not.

And I definitely noticed Tie. I think that was the last of Toronto's two and a half cameos in the clip.

The first one was the Bills, and the fucking "Music City Miracle." The second was Vince Carter at the dunk off - good times. And the third was Domi penalty box skirmish, which was pretty awesome.

Unless I missed some, I saw exactly one hockey clip of an actual on-ice play.

That ties the NHL with competitive hotdog eating in terms of impact, in the eyes of ESPN.

So... great job, Bettman!

No Chapman.....oh well. What can be said? I'm really impressed with the Raps though, we'll beat Boston one of these days.

@ DGB: So true, and so sad. Did the NHL stagnate or regress in the past decade? I think you well have to agree it's the latter.

@ LooshV: If the Raps can't beat the Celtics without KG, it may never bloody happen.

I know you loved this one especially because of Coldplay.

What a fantastic piece of work. By the end, I was blubbering like a little kid. I love sports. I know they are just games, but the effort, the miracles, the achievements just move me. That's all there is to it for me.

goddamn that was chill-inducing. Even if it didn't have enough hockey for my taste. Still, what a recap, the good, bad and ugly of the double-oh's.

I probably care too much about sports. And I don't care.

No respect for Fed once again...

@ BK: Let's just say I certainly wasn't complaining about the soundtrack.

@ William: It's those magical moments - victory, defeat, against all odds, etc. - that always move me. It was a great video.

@ stucky: Yeah, not a lot of hockey, but nails nonetheless. Manufactured in America, so we shouldn't be surprised. I'd love it if TSN did one, with a lot more hockey and a lot less college football/basketball. And I think by writing this blog, it shows that I too care too much about sports. I just don't think of the athletes as role models, etc. I love sports for the escape they provide.

@ aapd: Fed was featured a few times in there. He's pretty much universally respected by this point, no?

He is. Just thought he could've got a live clip instead of a couple stills, especially for the FO Win. Nit picking, but they gave Roddick more ha.
