Third place? The fuck? ...
All of a sudden, the Blue Jays' offence is second-weakest the fourth most prolific in the AL East. I blame Rob Iracane ...
It's only a matter of time before Shawn Camp is sent to Las Vegas, with Jeremy Accardo - he of the 3.00 Pacific Coast League ERA - coming up to take his place. Right? ...
I hate Mondays. Especially when it becomes the seventh consecutive day of losing baseball. Much like The Ack, I've been "a miserable son of a bitch" for a week. So much for maintaining an even keel during the highs and lows of the baseball season ...
When it comes to Cito Gaston's refusal, losing streak be damned, to move Vernon Wells the fuck out of the cleanup spot alter his lineup, I feel like Kramer, pleading with Jerry to call Alec Berg to thank him for the hockey tickets: "You stubborn, stupid, silly man!" Lord knows The Cito has more patience than me. Hell, than all of us ...
Speaking of Mr. Wells, he's driven in one run since May 6th, and has yet to hit a ball to the opposite field. That is both depressing, and incredibly unbelievable. His .172 batting average with runners in scoring position is about as clutch as I was the first time I tried to unstrap a bra ...
Welcome back, Ricky Romero ...
Is B.J. Ryan finished? ...
I'm excited, and scared, about Boston's visit to town beginning Friday night. More scared ...
The Blue Jays are testing our patience; testing our resolve. And they're doing it at the worst possible time: The Tao of Stieb said farewell to nicotine eight days ago, and I've recently embarked on a sabbatical from alcohol. Suffice it to say, The Tao needs a smoke, and I need a drink ...

I take a little solace in the fact that at least we didn't blow a 10-run lead like the Rays.
Of course, we'd need to score 10 runs in a game first.
It just the good old blue jays all the nay sayers must have been right. I still have my hopes up, its just hard cause this is the first time we have dropped more than two. If we can get all of our losses out of the way life will be easier.
I'm thinking of taking up smoking just to get through this shit show of a stretch. Can't hurt, can it?
Oh yeah, the cancer. Right.
Yikes! Just goes to show you how quickly things can turn if the Jays are not careful. Tampa Bay is creeping up the standings too. Let's hold our ground boys!
The Rays have scored a lot of fucking runs.
It's hard to believe with the rotation we've used so far this season, we still have allowed the fewest runs in the division. I'd hug Arnsberg if I could.
Oh god what is it with V-Dub every time he seems to be given a position of importance in the line-up? This is complete horseshit and Cito I applaud your faith in Vernon, it's quite admirable but this is killing the team.....and me slowly. WTF BJ?, is that it!? Rickey looked good for what I watched. The Jays have been FUCKED ever since TSN2 pulled that hurtin' "pay to watch a(local) major league team on TV" bullshit. God I can't tell you how much that pissed me off.
Just a reality check. No way the Jays were going to dominate each series like they did to start the season.
I'm starting to lose some faith in the Rios/Wells combo. I keep saying "next year" but are they ever going to produce the 25HRs/90+RBIs, both in the same year, that everyone expects them to do. It doesn't seem likely. Cito needs to shake things up by changing the lineup. Big Papi is batting 6th now, maybe a small demotion or benching him for a game might help.
Also, the new pitchers to the league are usually welcomed with short success because major leaguers just don't know anything about them. What makes them major league hitters is the fact they can adjust. They adjusted.
Maybe the pitchers adjusted to our hitters.
If only Luke Schenn knew how to play baseball. :P
But seriously, they need to get their shit together, and fast. Enough of this losing streak B.S.
@ Furc: #1 is why I'm taking a sabbatical from the booze. It's not worth it! And Vernon Wells cried himself to sleep last night. At least, I hope he did.
@ Loosh: Poor Vernon. Much-maligned. I admire Cito's steadfast refusal to move him out of the four-spot, but even I'm beginning to realize that it needs to be done. I think Wells will be DHing today, and I'm sure he'll be doing it out of the four-spot. As for Ricky, the home run killed him. What can you do? The pitching isn't the concern right now. Well, except for B.J; he's shit. At least Carlson threw an inning and two-thirds of no-hit ball.
@ On the Fence: Rios has always been a big tease. Vernon should be a 25 HR/100 RBI guy, every year. His slow starts are just going to be the death of him. And a rookie pitching owning the Jays is nothing new. It happened plenty of times last year. Frankly, I'm used to it.
@ Pubina: The streak ends this afternoon. It's one thing for Doc to lose a gem during an eight-game losing streak, but there's no way he will allow for his teammates to squander two glorious pitching performances. We come home from the trip 1-8, use the off day to regroup, because shit gets real on Friday night.
PENNANT!!!!1
Hang in there. Halladay is pitching tonight and should break the losing streak. As for Boston this weekend, they look fairly vulnerable at this point. Good to get them before their pitching starts clicking.
@ William = It's unfortunate that we don't have a pitching staff full of Halladays. What the hell was that today? Jesse $&@#*! Carlson !! Cito's invinvibility coat is starting to disappear.
Furc: What happened? (I've blocked it out, already.)
Me and Baseball John Tavares are here for you.
*Hugs eyebleaf, and BJT joins in too*
There, you should feel better now. :)
That was pretty gay (not that there's anything wrong with that), and much needed. Thank you KP.
And, you know what? TRAVIS SNIDER IS BASEBALL JOHN TAVARES!1
If Snider is Baseball Tavares, then who the hell is Baseball Luke Schenn?
Man, I should stop creating composite characters. :p
