For some reason, Lemieux's been on the brain of late ...
The best ever, in my humble opinion.
I vividly remember the night Mario came out of retirement; Dec. 27, 2000. It was a Wednesday night. Our Maple Leafs were in Pittsburgh. I watched the game at home with my brother, and Lemieux assisted on a Jaromir Jagr goal thirty seconds into the first period. In his first game after more than three and a half years away, Lemieux finished with a goal and two assists.
The Leafs lost 5-0 that night. It was a pleasure.

I knew it.
I watched that game as well....Magnificent Mario....i also watched when a long time ago when the leafes were shalacked 11 to 2 by the pens....i am glad those years are gone...or are they..
Bhattorious.....
I remember being worried that Lemieux wouldn't have it anymore.
Then I remember heading to Tim Horton's after the game in a Penguins #66 jersey and having Leaf fans genuinely excited about Mario's return, even though it meant a Leafs loss.
When I see him watching from the owner's box I can't help but wonder if he wishes he were on the ice.
Lemieux was so good he was even able to make some of those mid 90s Penguins jerseys look slightly less ugly
after i shook super mario's hand, i scored 4 goals in my mens league game. you figure it out.
@PensExperience: I've never enjoyed a Leafs loss more than Lemieux's return. That was fun as shit.

Jared: No note taking!!
Johnny: I just heard! Unreal!
Wayne Gretzky is my favorite player of all-time. Nevertheless, Mario Lemieux is the greatest hockey player I've ever seen. That deke on Bourque is etched into my memory.
